In a hurry? Enjoy 3 stories of exactly 50 words. A 60-second read.

DISSOLUTION

Fifty word stories? Sounds easy, but HA! Challenge embraced; let the jotting and counting begin.

“Not tonight, dear. One… too busy… two, three.

Cloud of perpetual distraction

“Sorry, what were you saying? Didn’t catch that. I was—“

“Yeah. I know,” he mumbles. “Counting. Scribbling.”

Relationship ends, but hey! Fifty words!

MATURITY

Words flowed: eloquent, impressive. Everything perfect, until a fly disappeared into her interviewer's man bun.

Wouldn't be easy, but she'd battled giggles before, and won.

Two more entered the bun party. She bit her lip.

Oblivious, he droned on. "We're all abuzz..." he said.

She heard no further. Game over.

UNFINISHED

This relationship feels hopeless, Unadulterated frustration.

Yet...

To abandon now? Impossible. Too much time invested.

Amazing highs, But oh, those lows. Sometimes unbearable.

"Walk away!" an inner voice screams. But I can't. I’m in too deep.

So with a cleansing breath and renewed resolve, I pull out the half-finished manuscript.

"Dear Reader, Try this yourself! Pick a number and commit to telling a story using no more, no less than that chosen number of words. It's the ultimate word puzzle."
